SD-WAN Migration

Migrated 24 branch sites from MPLS to a hybrid SD-WAN fabric with application-aware routing.

Overview

Branch connectivity relied on expensive MPLS circuits with no visibility into which apps were consuming bandwidth.

The challenge

Cutovers had to happen out of hours per site, keep voice quality intact, and fall back cleanly if the new overlay misbehaved.

The approach

I deployed a hybrid SD-WAN fabric with dual transports, application-aware path selection, and QoS tuned for voice — piloting on three sites before scaling.

Results

Circuit costs fell by roughly a third, branch bandwidth doubled, and voice quality improved thanks to real-time path failover.
