Network and Wireless Infrastructure

Core Network & Wireless Infrastructure Design and Deployment

Designed and deployed a new core network and wireless system from scratch, with a clear layered design and Aruba Instant AP Wi-Fi that is stable, secure, and ready to grow.

Core Network & Wireless Infrastructure Design and Deployment

Overview

This project built a brand new network for the organization, covering both wired and wireless. The wired network follows a layered structure: Core, Distribution, and Access. The wireless network uses Aruba Instant AP architecture, which runs without a separate hardware controller.

The challenge

The organization needed a complete network built from the ground up. It had to support many users and devices, keep traffic moving without slowdowns, and stay up if a device or link failed. The wireless system also had to be simple and cost effective, without adding extra controller hardware.

The approach

We designed the network in three layers. The Core layer handles high speed traffic between main parts of the network. The Distribution layer connects each building or floor and applies routing and security rules. The Access layer connects users, devices, and access points. We added backup links and redundant core switches to avoid single points of failure, and used VLANs to separate user groups. For wireless, we deployed Aruba Instant APs in a cluster. One AP acts as the Virtual Controller and manages the others. If it fails, another AP takes over automatically. All SSIDs and security settings are managed from one place. Every part was tested before go-live.

Results

- New wired and wireless network fully deployed and running - Clear layered design that is easy to manage and troubleshoot - No separate controller needed, lowering cost and complexity - Automatic Virtual Controller failover for reliable Wi-Fi - Ready to add more users, devices, and access points in the future
