Overview

A university with over 5,000 students and staff was struggling with an outdated wireless system that could no longer handle modern usage dense lecture halls, online exams, and streaming-heavy learning. We replaced the entire wireless infrastructure with Huawei Wi-Fi 7 access points and centralized controllers, delivering reliable coverage across the whole campus.

The challenge

The legacy access points were end-of-life and couldn't handle high-density areas like lecture halls and libraries, where hundreds of devices connect simultaneously. Users experienced dead zones, dropped connections when moving between buildings, and slow speeds during peak hours. IT staff had no centralized visibility, so troubleshooting each complaint meant physically walking to the site.

The approach

We began with a full wireless site survey to map coverage, interference, and user density across every building. Based on the survey, we designed and deployed Huawei Wi-Fi 7 access points campus-wide, with capacity-based placement in high-density zones. Centralized controllers manage the entire deployment, enabling seamless roaming between buildings, role-based access for students, staff, and guests, and full visibility from a single dashboard. The rollout was phased building-by-building to avoid disrupting classes.
